At Therapeutic Blueprint, we are proud to deliver the Foundations for Attachment Programme (Kim Golding, 2015), based on the principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). This highly regarded therapeutic parenting programme is designed for those supporting children and young people who have experienced developmental trauma, including early attachment disruptions, loss, separation, and relational harm.
For many professionals and caregivers, traditional behaviour-focused approaches often fall short. Children who have lived through trauma need more than structure and routine—they need consistency, attuned relationships, and adults who truly understand their emotional world, and this training offers exactly that!
Grounded in DDP and the Power of PACE
The programme is built on the foundations of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). DDP emphasises the central role of safe, trusting, and emotionally connected relationships between children and their caregivers.
Through this model, participants learn to parent and care using PACE:
Playfulness
Acceptance
Curiosity
Empathy
These core principles help adults to approach children with understanding rather than judgement, compassion rather than correction, and connection rather than control. PACE provides a framework that transforms interactions into moments of healing, regulation, and felt safety.
A Hands-On, Immersive Training Experience
Delivered face-to-face over three days, the programme gives participants the opportunity to:
✨ Engage in practical discussions
✨ Learn directly from experienced trainers
✨ Explore attachment theory through a trauma-informed lens
✨ Reflect on their own experiences within caregiving roles
✨ Build confidence in using PACE consistently and effectively
The extended structure ensures participants have the time and space needed to absorb, practice, and fully understand these therapeutic concepts in a meaningful, lasting way.
A one-day refresher course is also available for those who have previously completed Foundations for Attachment.
What Participants Are Saying
Feedback for our Foundations for Attachment programme is consistently positive, and shows us the powerful impact that our training has:
“100 percent I would recommend this course because it’s the missing link that bridges the gap between your own experience and your knowledge of how to deal effectively with one’s own demons, to then understand how to deal with others’ needs!"
“For me personally, this has helped me connect so many needed dots and brought clarity to my own life. I had so many unanswered questions, and this training has helped me find peace with them. It has deeply supported my approach and understanding.”
These testimonials reflect the transformative impact the training can have - not just on practice, but on the personal journeys of caregivers and professionals.
